On the 16th of January 2019, Shehzada Dr. Aziz Bhaisahab Qutbuddin was invited to the Vidyaniketan English High School in Thane as the Guest of Honor for the school’s annual day function. At the event, 3 teachers were awarded the “Syedna Taher Fakhruddin Saheb Excellence in Teaching Award” in recognition of their hard work, dedication, and efficacy in teaching. Each teacher was awarded Rs.10,000 and a silver plaque. A student was also awarded with a scholarship of Rs.10,000.
In his speech, Shehzada Saheb expounded Syedna Khuzaima Qutbuddin’s RA philosophy on education. He explained that not only is education required, but good character and moral values are also essential in developing a well-rounded and successful individual and society. He recounted the values of the noble profession of teaching, saying that it is a position of trust and importance as it aids in the upbringing of our children. Shehzada Saheb once again congratulated the teachers who were given the award saying that it was given to “recognize dedication and hard work.” He also congratulated the student who received a scholarship expressing his wishes that she works hard and prospers. Shehzada Saheb ended the speech quoting Imam AS who said, “a man is an enemy of that which he is ignorant of.” He stated its exceptional relevance in today’s world and how education is the answer to harmony despite cultural, ethical, and non-secular differences.
